Sponsorship

For this competition we reached out for a few sponsors. This allowed us to upgrade parts of our car, without using our limited budget. We are very grateful to the companies that agreed to sponsor us. If your company would be interested in sponsoring our team please email us.

Savox very kindly sent us one of their servo's. Last year we had issues with our plastic servo, and it struggles with the weight of our bigger new tyres. As a result we have now got a SW-0230MG servo. This is far more powerful than our previous servo, as well as being fully waterproof and it has metal gears. This means it should never strip gears and it will keep working through the water splash we have to go through.

Hobbywing sent us an ESC. This is needed to power the motor with the fine control needed for the precise crawling that we face in the competition. Our previous ESC was a 25A and struggled on some of the steeper climbs that we had to do. It got quite hot which is an indication that it is near the limit. As a result we have now changed it with our sponsored Quicrun 1060 ESC which is a 60A speed controller. It will offer better control over the motors speed, whilst remaining cool.

Arkwright offer engineering scholarships to teenagers in year 11 who want to become engineers. If you are successful through the application process you get paired with an engineering company or institution and also receive some financial support to go towards your engineering activites. Both Matthew and Stephen have this scholarship and are using some of their scholarship money to buy materials and tools for our team.

Schumacher Racing is Hobbywings UK distrubutor. They sent us the ESC directly, meaning we did not have to wait for the ESC to arrive from China. We are promoting Schumacher Racing because their service was excellent. It was easy talking to them by email, and they ensured swift delivery of our ESC. We appreciated this so offered to advertise them as well as Hobbywing.

Easy Composites Ltd is a leading supplier of advanced composite materials to individuals, businesses and educational institutions. Their extensive selection of materials ranges from everyday composites supplies to hard to find advanced materials. When we decided to use carbon fibre for our chassis sides, we found them to be the perfect supplier which was able to offer us a discount on the carbon fibre.
